In the near future I'm planning to get some new tires for the TJ. I was considering the MTRs, but just looking around for opinions on other tires as well. The Jeep's mainly for wheeling trips, but is driven around town occasionally. What do you people run?

Thanks!

I've ran MT Baja Claws (bias ply) and am currently running Boggers. I love the directional paddle tires. The down side... they wear quickly, loud as hell on the street, and lack of side bite. But if it's not going to see the highway a lot and you lurn to wheel with the lack of side bite you can't beat them.

I'm running mickey thompson baja mtz's and absolutely love them. they're awesome in the sand and mud, and pretty sticky on the rocks too. fairly quiet on the street.

I got about 40k out of my ProComp MTs, they still had some tread on them when I got rid of the jeep.

Kristy, Mud Kings aren't that bad of a tire for the money.

that usually isn't much of a deal, they just mark up the per tire cost so much that it equals what it would normally for 4. I picked up my 33x12.50x15 Baja MTZ's for $600 shipped off ebay. they normally retail for $177 each plus shipping everywhere I looked.

My BFG MT's have lasted over 60,000 miles, no lie and still have a bit of tread on them. They still do quite well offroad too. We'll see how the SSR's compare shortly.....

I would not recommend MTR's to anyone. They suck in the mud from my experience with them. They wear very fast and are too expensive. I had some TSL's that I loved, some Delta Mud Tracs that were great.

Well lets see. I've had Pro Comp XTerrains, Boggers, TSLs, LTBs, Baja Claws, BFG ATs, BFG MTs, and by far my favorite tire for DD and wheelin is the Pro Comp XTerrain.

My current rig is gona have LTBs because the XTerrain doesn't come in a big enough size.

Another good tire is the Dunlop Mud Rover.

Yeah, for the price and tread life they are hard to beat. They perform well too.

I have Dunlop radial rovers on mine that I use for street tires. They are the AT version of the mud rover. I love them good tread life and nice ride on the road and they don't do too bad offroad.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend those. Had a set of their 31" MT's on my old 2A flatfender. They worked great and held up to the Badlands. Can't say how they would have been on the road.

Why did I sell my flatfender??? :crybaby2:
