Post subject: what the hell carrier is the 3.55 ratio ?
Post Posted: Thu Apr 16, 2009 9:29 pm
Ok if dana 30 and 35 carriers are seperated by 3.54 and down and 3.73 and up, where the hell does that put the four 3.55 axles I have? They are all stamped 3.55, not 3.54. What carrier does that make them? they don't have a carrier just for 3.55's do they? I'm getting pissed, because I've read 3.54 and numerically lower, and 3.55 and numerically higher, and now I'm reading 3.73 and numerically higher. Anyone who has gone from 3.55's to something higher that can tell me what's involved, I'd appreciate it!

i think the ring gear divided by the pinion gears there are actually some different numbers that make it 355 and 354 depending on the tooth counts.

you still need a new carrier to go to 4.10s

I'm running 33's, and I'm not trying to turn 4 high into 4 low, but I'm running like 62 mph at 1500 rpm with the 3.55's! I have 4 high, and 4 ultra high, I want 4 low back! :?
