Some other Hummer guys are trying to get a Redbird trip organized. We're having a hard time getting dates that will work for everyone so far, but March 2, 8, or 10 are the dates that are in the mix right now. Anyone here interested? If so, which dates?

March 2nd is the date I'm going to be there. If anyone else is planning to go, PM me and I'll get you my cell number so we can be in touch that morning. I'm not getting up at the crack of dawn, but will probably meet up in Sullivan if anyone is coming down 41. I know there is a lot of crap between Jeep and Hummer guys (mostly good natured), but my buddy is going to be there with his freakin' awesome solid axle conversion H3. It's an all garage built project. I don't care what nameplate is on it, anyone who wheels will appreciate it.

Last call! If anyone else is going, we'll be there at 10am. Word is, the place is a muddy mess right now. Should be interesting.

Wow! Gotta' say, this was a trip of superlatives. Muddiest. Most winching. Most dangerous. Most carnage. Redbird was an absolute disaster zone. I've made it through many trips and over 100k on the odometer without any carnage, but Redbird ended that streak with a broken rear window. We're probably lucky that was all we ended up with. My buddy found himself perched precariously on the edge of a ravine sitting on slick mud. That entailed attaching a couple straps for insurance before we even thought about trying to get him out of there. Moose, you missed an adventure for sure.

Hey now! What about the silver Hummer?! Isn't it cool, too? :) Seriously though, the black H3 is one of the most capable rigs you'll find on the trails. It's a completely custom solid axle front end. He completely cut every last part out of the front suspension and built everything from scratch up front. Like I mentioned earlier, I don't care if you're a Jeep, Toyota, Hummer, or whatever fan-- you have to respect his truck. Here's a better picture of the front end.

Thanks for the sympathies on the window. I got the all but one little ding worked out of the door and the glass is here tomorrow. Wheeling is a pay to play activity. Life goes on...
