some pics from Interlake this weekend. there's pretty much stuff for everyone here. mud, rocks, technical stuff, climbs, descents tight trails and open trails. you had to take it easy in the water, because you never knew if it was full of huge rocks or not. this place is old coal mine property so it's really rocky. the DNR owns it now and opened it up for off roading, horse back riding, dirt bikes, atv's and whatever else. i think it's like 3550 acres or so. here are a few pics and a link to the rest of them....we had a blast, and as usual, found the really fun trails when it was getting time to head home. it was me and my wife, my buddy Dave and his daughter in my old XJ, and my Dad in his stock TJ. here's a link to all the pics and videos......

Had to do the ol' "see saw" on the steering wheel to make it through this one. i was beginning to get a little worried about it! haha!

Dad on the downhill slide. these pics don't really do justice to the height and grade of this descent. it had a lot of loose rock on it too.

Dave playing in the mud in my old XJ.

duh....i didn't even notice the "picture" section.
it was a good time for sure. it's right off I-64 and highway 61.

if you are on I-64, take the Lynville exit and go north.
when you get to the 4 way stop/flashing light, turn right (east) onto highway 68.
the entrance is a few miles up the road on the left side.

there is a gas station and do it yourself car wash right there at the flashing light too, so that's pretty convenient. doesn't cost a thing to get in and go wheeling.

Very nice!Thank you kind sir.Looks muddy,I like mud.
Badlands is fun but even when it's muddy you don't really sink in it.Then again I've only been there twice in the jeep, but never been stuck there either.
Can't wait to go down there.Free wheeling sounds good also!

looks like about 5.5 hours from the fort, give or take.

the mud is deceptive. it's a really rocky area, so what is under the water is generally pretty solid. that being said, there was plenty of mud in other areas as well!
