well come to find out i have a piece of tubing i wont be needing not sure of diameter but is 10' long i will post when i find out
fyi if you dont know shit about steel have somebody order who does!
otherwise you get stuck with steel you dont need if its a cut piece that is
costly lesson learned
also tube fenders should be (d.o.m.) steel not just any old steel/ another fun filled fact
not a good day
fucking kia broke down it's in the shop
no jacuzzi suites @ a hotel next to deercreek for nickleback concert

:tu2: Agree. Use DOM for cages and things to protect you. HREW is fine for fenders.

Hrew is just fine, but I'm guessing since its from Midwest, its 1; the wrong size or 2; it was pipe. Last time I went through them they gave me 1 5/8, when I asked for 1 1/2. Ozzy you maybe able to take it back if they gave you the wrong stuff. I took back what they wronged me on.

my guess would be that midwest and c henry are pretty much the same place. its probably covered in rust and that wont go on the machine.

Pretty much. They are brothers. You can get a lot of tube from inside at Henry's. That's where I got mine from them. Just the wrong size

I used Midwest as a supplier for about 6 months, a year or so ago.
They always told me that they did not stock round tube, only pipe.
They do stock a less expensive version of pipe that is essentually round tube made to pipe size.
1 1/4" sch40 pipe measures roughly 1 5/8"od, I'm sure that is what they sold Blue.

to be honest i actually have told somebody i would sell them to him when i was done with tube fenders frt/rear but if i find out he dont want/cant afford them then i will be selling them as a set
they r in pretty good shape the only issue is some of the mounting holes r a little larger in diameter thanks to 2 different trees @ patlands i just used a little larger washer also lost some of the original bolts, screws, washers, spacers

txs fatbagz not sure i like the look or wear on my rear door but i do like having a little more room in the back

maybe i will ask topper what rears would cost me and see if i can push up the sale of the set :? :)

What are you planning on doing for front turn signals since the factory were removed?

Are you going to enclose the side of the fender to hide and protect the battery and wiring?

I think the closest Rural Kings to Ft. Wayne are in Kendallville or Decatur, TSC should have the same stuff though.

An inline 6 ohm resistor from somewhere like radio shack for each feed should clear that right up for you. :tu2:

nope blue we looked @ them all and all the 2" marker lights were only that marker not dual function go figure

on that note i did not make it to tsc 2day took me all day and 3 truck loads to get my shrubs done, but will be there 2morrow around noonish,
also talked with topper 2day and it seems he has the bugs worked out to finish my side plates so i am hoping another week maybe and gumby will be ready to roll " is it done yet"!?, "is it done yet!?," you know kinda like " are we there yet"!?, "are we there yet"!?

i will post some pics 2morrow nite. hopefully we will be working on rock rails/ finishing side plates/ doing some welding 2morrow.

That's right. Thats what I have. I think your going to have a hard time finding a 3 function 2" light. I had to wire mine up to the side marker. And there work just the same. I had to tuck the turn signal under the hood. But I'm sure someone knows how to eliminate it. I just never got around too it.

I'm still working on the turn signal/marker light thing for led's. If you were to use regular incandescants it would be stupid easy. Otherwise I have to figure out a circuit.

ty sir for looking into this for me :2up:

hey i went to tsc 2day & they have the ones 04willys was talking about( i think they might be one in the same) i got 1 they will have my other one tomorrow so this will work just fine who cares if it blinks fast all that means is you better hurry up and get out of my way lol i will be over @ toppers as soon as he calls me if ya want to stop by and see what i got/ also jerry posted up that we could install an inline 6 ohm ressistor and that would fix the problem what do you think about that? either way it is no big deal to me if it blinks fast, slow or retarded just as long as it blinks

went to tsc today and they have the 2" led marker light, the lens was shaped like madonna's bras( very nipplish) $7.99 the ones from the truck stop the lights are in a cicular pattern, flat lens cover very nice $9.99 i am going with the one from the truck stop. will talk to scout about jerry d's fix on the fast blink problem but this is not a huge issue with me right now

got some done tonight topper got the table figured out now just a matter of refining the process, I got the angle iron all cleaned up and ready to cut, also removed rear bushwackers so we can install the rock rails, so we are thinking possibly in about 3-4 days and gumby could be damn close to completion

CAN I GET SOME PRAYERS OUT TO THE JEEP GODS TO LET THINGS GO SMOOTH FOR A MINUTE? PLEASE?!!!!!

Not what I am working on. When you go from a 2 filament bulb to a one filament bulb and want it to do the same two functions, you have to wire it differently. Then, if you want to use an LED you have to wire it differently yet.

Oz, I'll be at Toppers Friday afternoon.

" when pigs fly" topper & I thought it was funny! i need to find somebody to prolly hand paint them pink, black leather jacket, white wings
we could not get done what i wanted but he is working on getting the table to do what we want it to do and says we can go back and do the original plan we had, also topper said he would have my rock rails & tube flares done this coming week so fingers crossed by next weekend she should be done

here is a progress report on gumby
rock rails- bent, cut, welded, primed, painted= need to be bolted up yet
flat fenders bent, cut, welded, primed, painted, have 2 snapped bolts need replaced then they r done
as far as tube flares i might have to wait on them what with all the learning curve on my piece of sheet metal there may not be enough sheet metal left and my budget is pretty much shot, got the tube just have to save some money for a new sheet
i will take pics when i am over there today
every day gone by is one day closer to gumby & mine's reunion
nice job topper
