Lately when I go to fire up my truck, a cold start only, no matter the temp outside. It will idle like this at times, but once I put it in reverse or drive and take off it acts normal and goes down the road fine, for the most part. Now I know the computer has to do what it can to keep the motor running until it warms up but this seems excessive. What should I do to maybe correct this if you guys think its not normal. I should also add, I'm touching the gas pedal at all in the video..

truck is 05 F350 V10 for specs

I'm one of the few GM guys on here, so I don't know if my input translates to Ford, but if they are at all similar, I would agree withe the IAC solenoid, or whatever the Ford equivalent is. I've had the same issue before.

Are those replaceable sensors or something I need to clean?

You can clean them. I cleaned mine, but it only lasted about 3 months before it finally froze up completely. Basically when it COMPLETELY failed, the engine will not idle on its own. This happened to me in the middle of stop and go 4 lane trafffic in a stick shift. Basically I had to use the hand brake to stop while using my two feet to simultaneously clutch and accelerator to keep it running. That was an adventure!

This looks like some decent info from a quick Google --> http://www.aa1car.com/library/idle_speed_control_valve.htm

Is this the same thing as a mass air flow sensor? I can't
Find anything about a idle air control for my truck?

Well after some research once I got home, turns out I don't have an idle air control valve on my truck, they did away with that in 05...So tomorrow or friday I'm gonna call the dealer for a TPS and start with that and see if it fixes my problem. Gonna drive the YJ to work tomorrow..

Glad we sorta' solved that. Weird that Rock Auto still showed the part.

Well...lol I bought a new sensor today, put it on and the thing wouldn't start..I thought that was weird. So I thought well let me debunk the the sensor I just put on and throw the old one back on. Once I got the old one back on, it fired right up and idle'ed perfect and the truck has sat for over a day. (I wanted the truck to really sit so it would be a cold start to find out if the new TPS would fix my problem.) So once I put the old sensor back on and it was running fine it triggered a check engine light which I then drove the truck over to my buddy who works at a parts store and we read the code(s) and I can't remember what it was called right now off hand but we went and looked up the part and couldn't find it for my model year of truck. So we cleared the codes I left my old TPS on and returned the other one I bought to save some money right now and I'm just gonna drive it for the time being until it throws another code..I think I'm gonna invest in a OBD II reader because there are so many codes listed in my Haynes manual that it could throw over time..

TPS sensors are junk. I've had a few bad ones right out of the box. Having a code reader is a must anymore.
